Module #3

I chose this clip because it is interesting that Mr. and Mrs. Smith, who were once enemies, are now working together. This clip appeals to the reptilian brain because there is a lot of gunfire and explosions; you feel afraid that they could die. The limbic brain is influenced by the music that is somewhat calming. This clip does not influence the neocortex.  

Module #2

1. Books have an important place in everyone’s life. When you read a book you gain knowledge. People can learn about history and interesting events from books. You gain better vocabulary from reading. I love to read books and enjoy non-fiction, poetry, mystery, and joke books.

2. Besides books I like reading newspapers and magazines. Newspapers describe current events in Armenia and around the world. Usually, I read newspapers but I’m more interested in magazines that are about celebrities. Yes!, Yes!Girl, Qez Hamar, and Menua are my favorite because they describe different celebrities, have horoscopes, and recipes.

3. Music is an integral part of a person’s life. I can’t imagine a person who doesn’t like music. Music makes people happy. It is especially important for holidays and celebrations. It’s interesting to me how people follow music from around the world. I enjoy people who can play instruments. I wish I could play an instrument. I hope to study the piano. I listen to pop, R&B and modern music. I listen to music on MP3, DVD, and performances. Emmy, Madonna and Shakira are my favorite singers. 

4. Young to old people like to watch TV. They gain knowledge from TV. It helps people relax. I also like to relax by watching TV. Everyone can use and access a TV. I like to watch Yerku Aster, Hay Aspet, and Bonus are my favorite shows. I like them because from Hay Aspet and Bonus you gain knowledge. (They are game shows.) I enjoy Yerku Aster because it’s interesting to listen to the songs. My favorite channels are ArmeniaTV, Shant, and MTV, and Animal Planet.

5. I like to play video games. I play with my sister. But, It’s difficult form me to wait for her to finish her turn. I really like to play but I don’t have that much free time. Currently I like to play Mario because it has interesting level in which you need to save the princess.

6. Everyone uses computers. You can say that computers are an information spring. I hope that in the future everyone will be able to equally use computers. I use computers to study Armenian through games, to participate in different projects, and to do school work.

7. Internet is used by many people and informs them. I use internet everyday. I don’t have internet in my home. I use our school’s computer room. On the internet I go to different sites to do research for class and to research my interests.

Module #1

1. Hi, I’m Narine Gevorgyan. I was born in Armenia on January 15th, 1993. I study in Tatev Secondary school in 10th form. According to my friends, I am friendly, and enjoy making new friends. In school I enjoy because it is the center of knowledge and learning in our community. I can’t understand people who drop out of school. This is because as Tumanyan said a person without knowledge is like a leaf that fell from a tree and is caught in a gust of wind. My favorite subjects in school are English and Russian. In the future, I would like to learn many other languages; such as, Spanish, French, and German. I study well in school and finished 9th form on the honor roll. My friends and I get together and organize parties for holidays. We like to go on trip sot other places around Armenia; for example, Jermuk, Sisian, Garni, Edjmiatsin and Norovank. I like to socialize with foreigners that come to our village and monastery. I love my village and am happy to live here. For a young age I’ve studied English and what it to be my part of my profession. It is my personality to be positive, peaceful, and active. I love people who can reach their goals. I want to be like these people and reach my goals. I have a mom, dad, and sister. I don’t have a brother. I have a lot of cousins. My favorite animals are birds and squirrels. I saw these animals at the Yerevan zoo. I love village and school. See you soon!

2. Media has an important place in our lives. All media experiences can benefit people’s lives and be used in them. I use internet and TV the most. This is because I can get information on what interests me from the internet. I use TV to relax and to learn things from different programs. Media programs are used all over the world.

3. Tatev is a historical village. In the past few years people have left to find work elsewhere. I wish that our village would have a place for people to work. If people had jobs they could stay and our community would improve. I would like to create jobs around our monastery and create more tourist attractions. I want Tatev to be even more beautiful.

4. During the seminars I will be an active and interested participant. I will motivate others to also be active. I will be friendly with everyone and make many new friends. I will share my experiences and listen to others. I will contribute enthusiasm and excitement to the group.
